British actress Marsha Thomason first fell in love with acting after she saw a performance of the musical Bugsy Malone. At twelve years of age she joined the Oldham Theatre Workshop. Most notable of her many performances with the Oldham Theatre Workshop are on Willy Russell’s “Our Day Out” and Aristophanes’ “Peace”.
Marsha Thomason has been a prominent figure in British television since she was fourteen. Her first professional acting job was on BBC 1’s 'The 8:15 from Manchester'. By 1994, Marsha Thomason was cast on “Pie in the Sky”, a popular BBC show.
In 1996 there were two notable TV appearances, first was on “Prime Suspect 5: Errors of Judgment” wherein Marsha Thomason starred alongside Helen Mirren and then later that same year, in “Brazen Hussies”, Robert Lindsay and Julie Walters were her co-stars.
In 1998 Marsha Thomason could be seen in two shows, in “Playing the Field” and “Where the Heart Is”. For three years Marsha Thomason appeared in both shows where she did twenty-two episodes for “Where the Heart Is” from 1999-2000 and thirteen episodes in “Playing the Field” from 1998-2000.
Although she had been on numerous stage plays as a kid, Marsha Thomason’s performance in the stage play “Breath Boom” at the Royal Court Theatre on London’s West End was her professional stage debut.
Marsha Thomason’s first foray into British feature films was in 2002’s “Long Time Dead” and “Pure”. American movies that are to Marsha Thomason’s credit include 2001’s “Black Knight” with Martin Lawrence, “The Haunted Mansion” in 2003 as Eddie Murphy’s wife and “My Baby Daddy” in 2004.
At the 2002 BFM awards, Marsha Thomason received the Best Actress in Film award.
Marsha Thomason then took on American TV in 2003. First as Nessa Holt on the TV series “Las Vegas” then in 2007 as Naomi Dorrit on “Lost” and in 2008 as Julia Miller on the series “Easy Money”.
